Behold! Bro. Eli is telling the truth about Catholic Church Idols!

The TV program that night ended, but I could not explain the feeling inside of me. I got very angry with Bro. Eli! I hated him! It was maddening! And yet it was the truth! I was contented with what I heard, but I did not entertain it.

By Jocelyn Cervania

I clearly remembered my days when I was still a member of the Catholic Church. At primary years, it was a school requirement to attend Sunday Mass and ask the parochial priest to affix his signature to our index card as proof of our attendance.

I was also then a member of the Legion of Mary, where we study the life about Mary, mother of Jesus. My interest to serve God increased and in my own understanding of how to show it, I started joining some church groups introduced that time. I went to nearby churches that celebrated their saint’s day. I always made myself present in every traditional practice of the Catholic Church. For that, in my own assessment, I was an active church goer and religious person. In all those days I had spent, we studied the Bible very minimal.

At my collegiate years, I felt a hunger deep inside of me. Despite continuing the church services every Sunday and the usual practices, I still had the feeling of discontentment. And such feeling of discontentment drove me to look for another religion.

I attended once the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) worship, and after learning that Jesus is not God in their doctrine, I discontinued attending. Many times, too, I had attended Born-Again Movement groups, and I thought I found already what I was searching for. My enthusiasm, however, began to wane every time they preached about contributions. I knew it was in the Bible, but I had the feeling that there was something wrong.

I first heard the televised preaching of Bro. Eliseo Soriano in my friend’s house when I visited her. Her mother was an inactive member of the Members Church of God International (MCGI) that Bro. Eli preached. I clearly remembered that it was due to the “gayak” doctrine (Christian Dressing) that she discontinued attending. I didn’t understand her explanation then. Also, I wasn’t interested much; neither did I clearly understand Bro. Eli’s preaching at that moment. I had other interests, and so I never heard Bro. Eli again.

Later, my life turned sour; I had emotional problems, but my newly-found religion (the Born-Again) did nothing to comfort me. I found myself wanting my desperate life to end as I was so depressed that time. My depression turned to frustrations. My frustrations turned to sins. And those sins turned me into another human being – alive but with a life so meaningless.

Having had acquired insomnia, I stayed late watching TV. And that was the second time I heard Bro. Eli at SBN 21, when there was no other channel airing that late night.

Bro. Eli preached with much boldness and bravery, and each time he read Bible verses to prove what he was saying. This time the topic was about the practices of the Roman Catholic Church regarding idols. I ran to fetch my Bible and hurriedly looked for the verses for myself. I had doubts then that he was telling the truth.

Behold! Bro. Eli is telling the truth about Roman Catholic Church idols! Lo! The Bible verses are written very clearly, he is telling no lies! God is much displeased with idol worship! For many years, I had believed the opposite.

The TV program that night ended, but I could not explain the feeling inside of me. I got very angry with Bro. Eli! I hated him! It was maddening! And yet it was the truth! I was contented with what I heard, but I did not entertain it.

The next night, something was telling me to watch again the program”Ang Dating Daan,” and I did. At the same time, there was also something pushing me to change the channel and stop listening to Bro. Eli. I prayed so hard to God with tears, asking Him for His guidance. Deep within me, I knew that I had found the true religion! It was the one I had been searching for a very long time!

I have no words to explain my feelings every time I hear Bro. Eli’s preaching. I find myself contented. This preacher was sent by God, for he is telling no lies. He is just reading the Bible to explain and to answer everyone. I have my Bible on me, and I can verify everything he is saying.

I never went to the Catholic Church again: neither to the Born-Again groups.

On June 8, 2007, together with my husband, I got baptized. We are very fortunate to be members of the Church of God International!

Thanks be to God and to Him be the glory!!

My meaningless and worlidly lifestyle ended when I heard those preaching of Bro. Eli. While listening, the battle inside of me never ended, whether to believe or not to. But God poured mercy on me, and He lighted my long time search of truth. It was mixed emotions, tears were sprouting everytime I understand Bro.eli’s teaching.

I don’t have anything on my hand to return to God, only to praise Him and give thanks to Him for His unspeakable gift now and forever and ever.

Sis Jane, thanks for posting this.

Almost all of us felt the same, though we were gathered differently together. The effect of Bro. Eli’s preachings to mankind is truly unprecedented.

It really changed my life into a paradigm shift. I thank God so much, he used Bro. Eli to gather all of us to thank God with all our hearts and our lives.

Let’s support Bro. Eli and his helpers in spreading the Words of God in whatever ways possible. To support is not just a lip service but we should take our part in helping him with all our God-given talents.

    To God be the Glory!

    Yeah, me too!

I’ve been a catholic devotee since childhood. Everything seemed real, but after hearing Bro.Eli, I found catholic is no way to be the real church.

Real christians are not idol worshippers, in contrast to those in the catholic faith.

Thanks be to God for having Bro. Eli in our lives!

it is not easy to change a religion specially when you were a devotee of it eversince, sometimes the truth is already in front of your face, but still many have blinded and turn their back on the truth. I thanks God that He never forsake me in my battle of searching true religion in the Bible.

Bro. Eli’s preaching help me to discern the truth with the false one.
Iwth that, thanks be to God!

I am one of the avid listeners of Bro. Eli Soriano’s Dating Daan at UNTV 37. I find it very interesting because I believe that he is telling the whole truth about what are written in the Bible. I am also searching for a long long time the true church of God. Now, I know that the Church of God International is the true church that I am searching for.

Bro. Eli Soriano, I hope our Lord and our God in the name of Jesus Christ will give you more strength and long life . You are an undisputed minister. I never heard any priest and pastor that can clearly explain fully any question from an individual person.

    Mabuhay kayo Bro. Eli!

when I read the verses in the Bible regarding idol worshipping, ( i was not yet an MCGI member), doubt begin to sprout in my heart, although doubted, I still continued attending my catholic faith. But the time I understand the verse when I heard Bro. Eli in TV, the ultimate truth I heard made me realized the idol worshipping is abominable to sight of God and I should stop doing it. No one move me to stop, only the spirit that Bro. Eli’s preached that time, the spirit of the word of God, that came from the lips of His sent messenger.

If the preacher is not God sent messenger, although he read the same word or verses from the Bible, there is no deep effect in person, this is what I realized. And listening to Bro. Eli from indoctrination until now made me understand the reasons why. I thank God for His unspeakble gift.

as always Bro. Eli says: we respect the right of them to believe, but not their belief, we must prove they are wrong.”

i’d been reading a catholig blog lately and I learned how they twisted the truth in the scripture. specially the idol worshipping. Despite it was already written, loud and clear, and bold, that idol worshipping is abominable to sight of God, they still keep in saying that they are God followers in their own understanding. God said to those wise to their ownself:

(1Co 1:19) For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

Wise in this world is nothing to God.

@Jo I agree with you sister. If a preacher is not a messenger of God although he reads the same verse there is no effect on the listeners. And that makes a long mile difference to our preacher, Bro. Eli Soriano. When he opens his mouth, it pierces the soul.

    Thanks be to God.

    @Eddie

Faith started from listening to the preacher sent by God. This is what i had learned from Bro. Eli. You should know first the truth then you will know what is false. AS long as you did not heard the truth, you wont able to turn back your face on catholiscm. And by listening to Bro. Eli at tv and radio, by reading his blogs, little by little, with God mercy, you will be enlighted like us.

were you asking when you quoted “Ako ba ay magkasala pag di na ako nagsisimba sa Catholic church pag lagi akong nanonood ng iyong bible expo sa ibat ibang lugar dahil nakakapulot ako ng magadang aral?” (am i sinning if i stop attending catholic masses, if i always watch Bible exposition on different places where I i picked good lessons?”), my views are, from what i had learned from Bro. Eli, 1. you will continue sinning if you continue to attend the catholic masses, why? because they worship not the real God, they worship idols. and 2. while, if you continue listening to Bro. Eli, you will be enlighted with God’s help.

Just continue your desire to listen to the word of God and you will see God’s grace.

May God bless you and direct you to the OLD PATH….

it seems it is wrong to say “direct you to the old path” because God Almighty always lead his people to the right path, which is The Old Path”. Tt is our choice if we let Him to lead us or not. Its my mistake, i apologize.

Catholics don’t worship them. The statues serves as pictures that reminds us of God, Jesus, Mary and the saints. As a catholic, I do not idolize or worship any of those. Picture this, you miss a family member of yours and you get a picture of him or her. You hold the picture, you speak to the picture or sometimes even touch and kiss it. But you know its never the real person. You don’t love the picture, but you love the person. that’s the concept of it. Again, those statues are pictures and Catholics don’t worship them.

Anyway, I’m glad you found what you call a “true religion”. But you don’t have to bash any other religions just because they clash your beliefs.

S.J.C. YOU WROTE> Catholics don’t worship them. The statues serves as pictures that reminds us of God, Jesus, Mary and the saints. <

What a poor reminder to the Almighty God!

What a poor reminder to Jesus who is also God, who manifested in the flesh for 31 years ONLY!

      action speaks louder than word…

the same reason when someone asked me about the stautes, the images, the relics that RCC had, “we just respect them, and we not worship them”, but upon hearing the truth from the Bible, Kneeling with those images, praying with those images, and even procession them are sign of worshipping. These were the teaching we learned from RCC priests and apologetics. Not basing the Bible, I followed them all before.

i was before a member of legion of mary, they taught us to pray to mary, ask mercy to mary, which the truth it should not be. Pray to GOD.

when i lost something, i prayed to a saint for lost things, (i forgot whose saint is that) to found the thing lost, everytime i pray i should face the images, and in my mind i saw them,,while the Bible said,God is spirit. All in all, those RCC teachings are false. I said false, becasue we know already the truth. And the truth is, do not worship any creation, whether in land or in heaven.

i heard this the Bible verses before, but it was no impact, until iheard it came from the mouth-piece of God, Bro. Eli, and believe it or not, my heart ached that night, the pain i felt is undescribable. And there something is telling me that i done wrong in the sight of God…

just try to listen first, i’d been before in a situation where my heart is hardened by that belief…but thru GOd’s mercy and help, He did not let me to stay in the false religion.

      To God be the glory.

300 years is enough, lets wake up on this long long sleep people. Just ask yourself if really these idols change your principles in life, your everyday attitude towards others, or it getting you worst everyday?

We are now living in a full of hatred and self-serving world, only the word of God can make us change from within, not for one day, one month, but everyday of our remaining existence. Check out the people of God of MCGI, their lifestyles and thoughts, you will see the vast differences from other who also say they believe and love God.

    Discern!
